Thanks for visiting hellweek.com! Our goal is to provide the ultimate in bicycle tours and camps...unparalleled cycling fun and adventure, combined with the greatest people in the sport.

Hell Week tours and camps are brought to you by Ultra Sports Marketing, of Canyon, Texas. Started in 1991, USM started first with the Texas Hell Week cycling camp, and, through the years, discovered that cyclists wanted and needed more...profesionally-guided tours in which all they had to do is ride a bike, and leave all the worrying to someone else.

Ultra Sports Marketing is headed by Dr. Nick and Becky Gerlich. Nick, 45, is Associate Professor of Marketing at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, where he has taught since 1989. He got into cycling while in grad school at Indiana University, home of cycling's Little 500 and the movie Breaking Away.

Becky, 42, is a former Mathematics teacher, at Hereford High School. She takes care of the business end of Hell Week, as well as full-time motherhood for daughters Becca and Bailee, both of whom we adopted in China.

We have been active in cycling since 1983, when we both (still unknown to one another at the time) entered the sport for a variety of reasons: Nick, to lose weight, and Becky, to take a Spring Break bike trip. We met in 1984 on a Spring Break bike trip in Florida sponsored by friends of Anderson (IN) University (where we both did our undergrad).

After two years of dating and biking lots of miles, we were wed in June 1986, and then spent the next 53 days cycling 3700 miles from Los Angeles to Boston.

Our interests firmly cemented in cycling, we then joined the ranks of ultra-marathon cyclists, riding in many 24-hour races. The pinnacle of our cycling careers was our 1993 tandem performance in the Race Across AMerica (RAAM), in which we rode from LA to Savannah in a little over 11 days (and managed to stay married throughout!).

Nick is now an avid cyclo-commuter, cycling advocate, and hopeless cycling junkie, while Becky mixes inline skating, running, and cycling to maintain her fitness.

We are also actively involved in the work of the Church, helping create and organize a Friday night worship gathering called Project 707, and playing keyboards and guitars in the band. Nick has taught adult classes as well as a life group, produces emanate the CD-zine, and is trying to find time to finish writing a couple of books.

We are very pro-family. When you're with us, you're family.

Together, we welcome you to attend any of our events, and to see why Hell Week is so infectious. Once you've been to one, you just can't stay away!

Yours in cycling,

Nick and Becky Gerlich
